Chairs

Dining chairs take more daily punishment than almost any other furniture in the house. They are pulled in and out several times a day, leaned on and climbed on, so comfort and build quality matter more here than in most rooms. This collection covers modern and contemporary dining chairs sold in sets of two, four and six, sized for everything from a compact bistro table to a full six-seat dining set. We are expanding this range, so the chairs are currently listed in our specialist collections: Modern & Contemporary Chairs for velvet, faux-leather and boucle designs, Set of 2 Dining Chairs for quilted and fluted velvet pairs, and the Set of 4 and Set of 6 collections for larger arrangements. Seat heights run a standard 45-48cm to pair with 75cm-high tables, with solid wood, black metal and gold-tone legs across the designs. Chairs come in selected colours rather than the full palette, so check the shades shown on each listing. If the exact dining chair you want is not on the site, contact us and we will try to source it for you. Buying dining chairs online comes down to three measurements: seat height against your table, roughly 60cm of table length per diner, and a leg style that suits your flooring. Velvet and faux-suede upholstery wipes clean for busy households, and most designs need only simple leg attachment on arrival. Common questions Q: What seat height suits a standard dining table? A: 45-48cm pairs correctly with a 75cm-high table, leaving comfortable legroom underneath. Q: How many chairs will fit my table? A: Allow roughly 60cm of table length per diner. A 120cm table seats four; a 180cm table seats six. Q: Which upholstery copes best with family life? A: Velvet and faux-suede wipe clean and hide wear well, which is why they dominate this collection. All UK orders ship with free delivery, you can look over your chairs at the doorstep before paying, and many ranges include a 5-year manufacturer guarantee - details are on each product page.
