Mattresses

The mattress decides how you sleep; the bed frame just holds it up. A good mattress supports spinal alignment, relieves pressure points and regulates temperature, which is why it deserves its own decision rather than being an afterthought to the bed. This is a collection we are actively expanding, so mattresses are not yet listed under this heading. In the meantime, our Divan Bed collection includes luxury divan sets with pocket-sprung mattresses. The honest route is this: if the mattress you want is not on the site, contact us and we will try to source it for you. Tell us the size (single through super king), the type (pocket sprung, memory foam, hybrid, orthopaedic) and your firmness preference, and we will find options. What to know when buying a mattress: pocket springs offer the best independent support for couples, since each spring moves separately; memory foam contours to the body and suits side sleepers; hybrids combine both. Firmness is personal: side sleepers usually need medium, back sleepers medium-firm, front sleepers firm. Always match the mattress size to your base: a UK king mattress is 5ft by 6ft6, a super king 6ft by 6ft6. As a rule of thumb, replace a mattress every 7-8 years. If you wake stiff or the surface dips visibly, it is already overdue. Common questions Q: Pocket sprung or memory foam?
