Furniture for Southampton homes Southampton mixes Victorian terraces, interwar semis and modern waterfront living. Portswood and Shirley are full of student terraces and house shares serving the universities, where tough easy-clean sofas and affordable divan beds get ordered again and again by landlords. Around Ocean Village and the city centre, apartment living calls for compact 2 seater sofas, sofa beds for guests and ottoman divan beds that hide storage under the mattress. Family suburbs like Bitterne, Woolston and Totton favour 3+2 seater suites and corner sofas with room for everyone, while period properties toward Bassett suit Chesterfield designs and solid oak dining sets. Sofas in Southampton Our most delivered items in Southampton are 3+2 seater suites and L-shaped corner sofas for family homes, plus compact 2 seater sofas and sofa beds for flats near the marina and the universities. Fabrics include velvet, jumbo cord, chenille and easy-clean weaves, in a wide range of colours and finishes. Student landlords tend to choose hard-wearing fabrics that survive house shares, while family buyers pick deeper cushions and stain-resistant finishes. Chesterfield sofas with deep buttoning suit Southampton's Victorian terraces and period conversions. Beds and bedroom furniture in Southampton Divan beds with drawer storage are the practical choice for Southampton's terraced houses, where spare rooms double as home offices. Ottoman divan beds open the whole base for storage, ideal for flats without a loft. Upholstered bed frames with headboards up to 54 inches tall add polish to master bedrooms. Wardrobes run from slim 1-door units for hallway gaps to 6-door mirrored designs, with sliding doors for rooms where hinged doors would hit the bed.
